Welcome to “The Keko”, home of the James “Keko” Morrissey Memorial Fund (JKMMF). The JKMMF will be hosting “The Keko – Year 4”, a benefit golf tournament to be held at Breakfast Hill Golf Club on Friday, July 15th, 2016. Registration begins at 8:00 am and shotgun start promptly at 9:00 am.

Keko was a lifelong member of the Portsmouth community. He grew up on Lincoln Ave and first attended old Lafayette elementary school. He culminated his local education by graduating from PHS in 1986 and attending Plymouth State College. Keko was known as a great athlete throughout the seacoast area. He was the star of the baseball and basketball teams during his senior year at PHS, among other athletic accomplishments. Therefore, we are dedicating proceeds from the events held in his name towards scholarships for PHS basketball/baseball players (in addition to a scholarship fund for his niece and nephew).

This and future events will be a huge success because of Keko himself. Those who were close to him may be helping to run these events, but these events will only be successful because of the love the entire community felt for James “Keko” Morrissey. Through the trials and tribulations of life there was always one thing you could count on in Portsmouth, that was running into Keko (and probably knowing him) and getting a smile and a quick laugh. A day where you crossed paths with Keko was generally a brighter day.

We hope to see many of his friends and family at the golf tourney or future events. For those of you who do not golf or would like to stay in touch, please join “The Keko” Memorial Golf Tournament group on Facebook.
